The housing is made from a weather resistant composite with an etched lens that diffuses the light rather than casting a harsh beam. The Painted Heritage Brass finish gives it a warmer, more traditional character while the square shape keeps it feeling current. It pairs naturally with stone, brick and painted render.

This fitting takes 1 x 8W GU10 bulb, which is not included, so you will need to add one to your order. It is dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. The fitting is wall mounted and directs light downward, useful for lighting a doorway, step or path. It is wired to Class I, which means it needs to be earthed. The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by Phil R. Hinkley with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. A compact, functional wall lantern like Scout sits close to that original idea of the company. After Phil's death in 1937, Stanley Wiedemer took over the business outright and moved his family to Cleveland to run it, and his descendants have led the company through four generations since. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
