How it works

The fitting directs light downward, practical for lighting a doorway, step or path. This fitting doesn't come with a bulb, so you'll need to add one to your order, and it may need some simple assembly on arrival.

Where it works best

With an IP44 rating, Scout suits exterior walls, porches and entrances exposed to the weather, and the brass tone works well against stone, brick and painted render.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley's philosophy has always centred on what the company calls "thoughtful design, impeccable attention to detail and quality craftsmanship," a standard set from its earliest days as a small Cleveland outdoor lantern maker in 1922 and maintained through four generations of Wiedemer family leadership. Scout's practical, downward facing design and honest use of materials is a fairly direct expression of that same standard. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has built pieces to that same standard for UK homes, adapting them for 220 to 240V wiring.
