The body is cast in aluminium and finished in Painted Burnished Bronze, a warm brown bronze tone with real depth rather than a flat colour. How it works

This wall lantern takes 2 x E14 bulbs, sold separately, so you'll need to add your own to the order. It's dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs, and pairs well with warm white LED lamps for a traditional, candlelit look. The fitting is wired to Class I, which means it needs to be earthed. The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started out in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. A wall lantern like the Sag Harbor sits close to that original idea: a well made light built to work outside a front door. The company passed into the Wiedemer family in the years that followed, when Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, bought out founder Phil Hinkley's share and then took full ownership after Phil's death in 1937, moving his own family to Cleveland to run the business. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification, so a design rooted in an American harbour town works safely on a British porch.
