Mild steel and amber organza

The frame is mild steel, finished by hand in Olde Bronze so the curved arms and cast candle sleeves take on a warm, uneven depth rather than a flat colour. Each arm carries a light amber organza shade, a fabric that softens the light rather than throwing a hard beam. The bronze tone and amber fabric pair naturally with warm woods and aged brass, though they sit just as comfortably in a plainer, more contemporary room.

This is a three light ceiling chandelier that hangs from a central ceiling rose on a chain, with the drop adjustable between 70.1cm and 222.6cm to suit different ceiling heights. It takes 3 x E14 bulbs, which aren't included, so you'll need to add your own. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. The fitting is wired to Class I standards.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started out in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by Phil R. Hinkley from a debut catalogue of just 14 products. After Phil's death in 1937, Stanley Wiedemer, who had already bought into the business, took it over fully and moved his family to Cleveland to run it. His grandson Rick Wiedemer joined in 1969 and spent fifty years shaping the company's designs, a period that saw candle inspired silhouettes like Plymouth take hold in the range. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
