The lantern holds a single E27 lamp. It doesn't come with a bulb, so you'll need to add one when you order, and a dimmable LED will let you adjust the light if that matters to you. This is a Class I fitting, which means it needs to be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. Some simple assembly may be needed when it arrives.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley set up as a small maker of outdoor lanterns, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. A lantern like this Palma sits close to that original idea, a simple, well made fixture for the outside of the house. Ownership passed to the Wiedemer family from the 1930s, and by 1969 Stanley's grandson Rick Wiedemer Jr had joined the business, a career that went on to span fifty years. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting each fitting to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
