Silver Leaf finish

The frame is metal finished in Silver Leaf, a soft, slightly textured metallic tone rather than a hard, polished shine. It's paired with distressed, etched glass diffusers, which add texture and help spread the light evenly rather than in a single bright pool. The look sits comfortably in both contemporary and more traditional rooms.

How it works

Three lamp holders sit behind the glass diffusers, taking 3 x E14 LED bulbs. Bulbs are not supplied, so you'll need to add these to your order. The fitting is dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. It's Class I, which means it requires an earthed connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. Being a semi flush design, it sits close to the ceiling, making it a good option for rooms where a pendant would hang too low.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started out in 1922 as a small maker of outdoor lanterns, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. The business changed hands within the founding years, first to travelling salesman Stanley Wiedemer and then, from 1937, to his family, who moved from Kansas City to Cleveland to run it. That family stewardship carried through three more generations, including Stanley's grandson Rick, who spent fifty years with the company. A fitting like Nest, with its confident, organic shape, reflects that longer view rather than a quick trend. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs, including this Silver Leaf semi flush, for UK and European wiring and CE certification.
