The Iron Rust finish is built from solid distressed wood and steel, giving it an aged, lived in character rather than a crisp modern look. How it works

This fitting takes a single E14 LED bulb, which is not included, so you will need to add one to your order. It is dimmable if you fit dimmable LED bulbs. This is a Class I fitting, which means it must be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio, when Phil R. Hinkley started out making outdoor lanterns, launching with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. That small, rustic beginning still shows through in pieces like this one, where distressed wood and dark steel echo the character of those early lantern designs. When Phil became ill with tuberculosis in the mid 1930s he sold half the business to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, who took full ownership in 1937 and moved his family to Cleveland to keep the company going. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has produced and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Is this wall light dimmable? Yes, it is dimmable as long as you fit dimmable LED bulbs. Standard, non dimmable bulbs will not dim even on a dimmer switch.

Does it come with a bulb? No. It takes a single E14 LED bulb, which is not included, so you will need to buy one separately.

Does this need to be installed by an electrician? We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It is a Class I fitting, so it must be properly earthed as part of the installation.
