The Middlefield 6 Light Chandelier pairs solid distressed wood with dark steel for a fitting that looks, and feels, substantial. A pear shaped wood finial finishes the design and can be hung inside or outside the main frame, letting you adjust the silhouette to suit the room.

Distressed wood and steel in Iron Rust

Solid distressed wood is combined with dark steel for a weathered, historical look rather than a polished, contemporary one. Because the wood is distressed by hand, grain, texture and colouring vary from piece to piece, and screens can show the tone slightly differently to how it appears in person. This Iron Rust finish suits farmhouse and country style interiors particularly well, and sits naturally alongside reclaimed wood, aged brass and wrought iron accents.

How it works

Middlefield takes six E14 bulbs, which aren't supplied, so you'll need to add six to your order. It's dimmable as long as dimmable bulbs are fitted. The fitting is Class I, which means it needs an earthed connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started out in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, when Phil R. Hinkley launched the business with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. It stayed a family business through Stanley Wiedemer's ownership from the 1930s, his grandson Rick's fifty year career from 1969, and the fourth generation of Wiedemers who began taking on leadership from around 2000. A fitting on the scale of Middlefield, with its substantial wood and steel build, reflects how far that small lantern maker has grown. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
