The Hinkley Mayflower Single Narrow Mini Pendant takes the Mayflower collection's bold, traditional lines and pares them down to one light on a narrow drop. It's designed to work well used alone or repeated in a row, which makes it a good match for kitchen islands, breakfast bars and dining tables where several smaller pendants suit the space better than one large fitting. This version comes in the collection's lustrous Olde Bronze finish with etched amber glass.

The frame is mild steel finished in Olde Bronze, a warm, aged bronze tone with real depth rather than a flat brown. The glass is etched amber on the inside, so the light that comes through is warm and diffused rather than a hard, bare bulb glow. A yoke mount holder and a cast tension knob add the traditional detailing that runs through the wider Mayflower range. It pairs well with other aged metal finishes and warm wood tones.

How it works

This pendant takes one E27 LED bulb, which isn't supplied, so you'll need to add one to your order. The drop adjusts from 33cm up to 108cm, so you can set the hanging height to suit your ceiling and worktop. It's a Class I fitting, which means it must be earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started small. In 1922, Phil R. Hinkley opened his outdoor lantern workshop in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. That instinct for getting a handful of designs right stayed with the company as it passed through four generations of the Wiedemer family, from Stanley Wiedemer's move to Cleveland in 1937 to Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer's leadership today. This narrow mini pendant carries the same idea into a single fitting, a scaled down take on the Mayflower collection's traditional lines, sized to work well alone or repeated along a run. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs for UK homes, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
