How it works

This chandelier takes six E14 LED bulbs, which are not supplied, so you will need to add these to your order. It is dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. It is a Class I fitting, which means it needs to be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It hangs from a ceiling mounted plate, with the drop adjustable at the point of installation.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley started out making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. After Phil's death in 1937, Stanley Wiedemer, who had already bought into the business, took it over fully and moved his family from Kansas City to Cleveland to run it. His grandson Rick Wiedemer Jr joined the company in 1969, for a career that spanned fifty years, and the fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, began taking on leadership roles around the year 2000. A piece with this much traditional detailing and scale sits comfortably within that century of family ownership. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK, including this Mayflower chandelier, converting it to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
