The Lanza semi-flush fitting takes the collection's rectangular, geometric metal frame and brings it flush to the ceiling. Three lights sit behind linen shades, which soften the metalwork and give a warmer, more diffused light than an open fitting. It's built for rooms where a pendant would hang too low, without losing the collection's clean lines.

Brushed bronze finish

This fitting is finished in Brushed Bronze steel, a warm, slightly matte metal tone that sits well against dark wood, black hardware or warm neutral walls. Linen shades and acrylic lenses cover the frame, adding texture and softening the light source itself. The Lanza range also comes in Antique Nickel and Oil Rubbed Bronze, so you can match the frame to other metalwork in the room.

How it works

This is a three light semi-flush fitting, taking 3 x E27 LED bulbs, which are not included. It's dimmable when paired with dimmable bulbs. The fitting is Class I, which means it requires an earthed electrical connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started in Cleveland, Ohio in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley launched the company with a debut catalogue of just fourteen outdoor lanterns. Illness forced Phil to sell half the business to Stanley Wiedemer in the mid 1930s, and after Phil died in 1937, Stanley bought the rest and moved his family to Cleveland to run it. His grandson Rick Wiedemer joined in 1969 and stayed for fifty years, and by around 2000 the fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, had begun taking on leadership themselves. A geometric indoor fitting like this Lanza semi-flush is a long way from those first outdoor lanterns, and it reaches UK ceilings because Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for 220 to 240V wiring and CE certification since 2012.
