A statement in stamped steel
The Hinkley Jules 3 Light Pendant is built around a repeating stamped oval pattern that wraps the frame, catching the light rather than relying on crystal or glass detail. It is also a properly sized fitting, with a 53.4cm diameter and a drop that adjusts from 55.3cm up to 143.6cm, so it reads as a genuine statement piece rather than a small accent. Fitted as a pendant or drawn up close to the ceiling as a semi flush, Jules works well as a main light in a room with the height and space to suit it.
Brushed nickel, steel and linen
Jules is made from steel with a brushed nickel finish, giving the stamped oval pattern a cool, understated shine rather than a mirror polish. Linen and glass detailing sits within the pattern, softening the light as it passes through rather than leaving it stark. This Brushed Nickel version is also available in Chrome, if you want a brighter, cooler tone instead.
How it works
Three E27 LED bulbs sit within the fitting. These are not supplied, so add them to your order. Jules can be dimmed, but only if you fit dimmable bulbs and use them with a compatible dimmer switch. It can be hung as a pendant at your chosen drop, or fitted closer to the ceiling as a semi flush, depending on the room and the ceiling height. This is a Class I fitting, which means it needs a proper earth connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.
Where it works best
Jules suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms, hallways and stairs, particularly spaces where a boldly patterned pendant can act as a focal point. Given its size, it works well over a dining table, in a stairwell with height to spare, or as the main light in a larger living room or bedroom.
The story behind Hinkley
Hinkley began in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by Phil R. Hinkley with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. Ownership passed to the Wiedemer family within a generation, first when Stanley Wiedemer bought into the business in the 1930s, then in full after Phil died in 1937. Three more generations of Wiedemers have run the company since, with Rick Wiedemer Jr joining in 1969 for a career spanning 50 years, and Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer taking on leadership roles from around 2000. Jules, a pendant built on scale and pattern rather than crystal or glass ornament, belongs to that more recent chapter of the brand. Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe since 2012, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Is the Hinkley Jules pendant dimmable? Yes, but only if you fit dimmable LED bulbs and use them with a compatible dimmer switch. Standard bulbs that are not dimmable will not allow the light to be dimmed, even with a dimmer switch fitted.
Do bulbs come with this pendant? No, bulbs are not included. Jules takes 3 x E27 LED bulbs, which you will need to add to your order separately.
