Hinkley started in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley began making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. This Harper Small Semi-Flush carries a little of that same modest, considered scale, a compact fitting built for rooms where a smaller light does the job better than a larger one. Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe since 2012, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification. It's a long way from that first 14-item catalogue, but the same instinct for a well-proportioned light runs through it.
