How it works

Harper takes 3 x E27 LED bulbs, which are not included, so you will need to add your own. The bulbs are dimmable if you choose dimmable LEDs, so you can adjust the light level to suit the room. This is a Class I fitting, which means it requires an earth connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

When Phil R. Hinkley started the business in Cleveland, Ohio in 1922, his debut catalogue held just 14 outdoor lantern designs. A century on, the Harper flush shows how far the range has travelled, from porch lanterns to considered ceiling lighting for kitchens and dining rooms. Stanley Wiedemer bought the company outright after Phil's death in 1937, and it was his grandson Rick who spent the next 50 years growing it from 1969 onward. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
