The Heritage Brass finish gives the steel ring a warm, aged tone, set off by decorative knobs around its edge. At the centre, the clear seeded glass carries a gentle, bubbled texture that catches the light from every angle. How it works

Harper sits flush against the ceiling and takes 3 x E27 bulbs, which are not supplied, so you can choose the warmth and brightness you prefer. It is dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. This is a Class I fitting, which means it must be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, when Phil R. Hinkley put together a first catalogue of just fourteen products. Harper's flush ceiling design, made for a kitchen or dining room ceiling rather than a porch wall, shows how far that range has grown since those early lanterns. The company passed to Stanley Wiedemer after Phil's death in 1937, and stayed in the Wiedemer family as it expanded indoors and across the decades that followed. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
