Graham is a duo mount fixture, which means it does two jobs from one design. Hang it from its rods for pendant height, or take the rods off and fit it flush to the ceiling as a semi-flush light. This is the 4 Light version, the larger of the two sizes in the Graham range, and it is also a genuinely large fixture, with a width of 58.4cm and a drop that adjusts from 35.9cm up to 121.8cm. Polished nickel and soft white shades

The welded frame is finished in polished nickel, a bright, cool toned metal that catches the light without feeling cold in a room. Two white polycotton shades sit around the light source, softening the glow from below and giving the fitting a tailored, transitional look that sits comfortably with both traditional and more contemporary furniture.

How it works

Graham holds four E14 bulbs, which are not supplied, so you will need to add these to your order. It is dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. This fitting is Class I, which means it needs to be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley started out making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. When he became ill in the mid 1930s he sold half the business to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, and after Phil died in 1937 Stanley bought the rest and moved his family to Cleveland to run the company himself. The Wiedemer family has led Hinkley ever since, from Stanley's grandson Rick, who joined in 1969 for a fifty year career, through to the fourth generation of Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer from around 2000. A duo mount design like Graham, built to work as either a pendant or a semi-flush fitting, reflects the kind of practical flexibility that has carried the company across a century of change. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, including converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
