A four light step up in the Gentry range
The Hinkley Gentry 4 Light Medium Pendant in Pewter is the middle size in the Gentry family, carrying four lights inside clear bent glass panels with cast candle sleeves and chasers. This is a large fitting: the drop adjusts from a 60cm minimum to a maximum of 216.9cm, so it can be set low over a table or raised for a taller ceiling. Please check these measurements against your space before ordering.
The Pewter finish
Pewter sits between the brighter nickel and the warmer brass options in the Gentry collection, giving this pendant a soft, slightly muted metal tone. The steel frame is paired with clear glass panels, so the finish reads as understated rather than showy, and pairs easily with both traditional and more pared back kitchen and dining schemes.
How it works
Four E27 bulbs sit inside the glass panels, and bulbs are not supplied so you will need to order these separately. The pendant is dimmable if dimmable bulbs are fitted. It is a Class I fitting, which means it must be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.
Where it works best
With four lights and a generous maximum drop, this size works well over a kitchen island or dining table where the small two light pendant would not give enough spread, and where the six light version would be too much. The long drop also makes it a good fit for a stairwell or a double height space, where you want the pendant to hang well below the ceiling line.
The story behind Hinkley
Hinkley began in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. Growing that range into families like Gentry, with a small, medium and large pendant and a run of finishes, has been part of the business ever since. Around 2000, the fourth generation of the Wiedemer family, Kristi, Jess and Eric, began taking on leadership roles as the company kept building out collections like this one. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings such as this Gentry pendant to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Questions People Ask
Is this pendant dimmable? Yes, it works with a dimmer switch as long as you fit dimmable bulbs. Standard, non dimmable bulbs will not dim even on a dimmer circuit.
Are bulbs included? No. It takes 4 x E27 bulbs, and you will need to order these separately when you order the pendant.
How long a drop does this pendant have? The drop adjusts from 60cm at its shortest to 216.9cm at its longest, so it suits both standard ceiling heights and taller or double height spaces such as a stairwell.
Do I need an electrician to fit this? We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It is a Class I fitting, so it also needs to be properly earthed as part of that installation.
What is the difference between this and the other Gentry pendants? This is the medium size, with four lights. The range also includes a smaller two light pendant and a larger six light version, in nickel and brass finishes as well as this Pewter.
