The Hinkley Gentry 3 Light Small Pendant is a traditional candle style fitting finished in polished solid brass, with clear bent glass panels wrapped around each of its three candle sleeves. It is the smaller scale version within the Gentry range, but don't let that mislead you on drop: the cable adjusts right up to a maximum drop of 199.3cm, from a minimum of 42.2cm. The polished brass finish

This pendant is finished in polished solid brass, the warmest and brightest tone available in the Gentry collection. The candle sleeves and glass panel surrounds are finished to match, and clear bent glass wraps each arm for a soft, classic glow. It suits period and traditional interiors particularly well, and pairs comfortably with warm wood tones and brass or aged metal hardware elsewhere in the room.

How it works

Three E14 bulbs sit within the candle sleeves. Bulbs are not supplied, so you'll need to order these separately. The pendant is dimmable, provided dimmable bulbs are fitted. It is wired to Class I electrical standards. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. The suspension cable can be adjusted between 42.2cm and 199.3cm at the point of installation, so it's worth measuring your ceiling height first.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by Phil R. Hinkley with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. After Phil became unwell in the mid 1930s, he sold half the business to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, and when Phil died in 1937, Stanley bought the remaining half and moved his own family from Kansas City to Cleveland to run the company. Three further generations of Wiedemers have led Hinkley since, starting with Stanley's grandson Rick, who joined in 1969. A traditional candle style design like this Gentry pendant sits comfortably within that long family history. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs, including this one, for UK wiring and full CE certification, which is how it comes to be sold here in polished brass.
