Polished Nickel gives this flush mount a bright, cool toned finish. It pairs the clear glass panels with a crisper edge than the brass options in the Gentry range, while keeping the candle sleeve and chaser detailing that defines the collection. Steel and clear glass make up the fitting, so it reads well against both painted walls and darker ceilings.

How it works

This flush mount takes three E14 bulbs, which aren't supplied, so you'll need to add these to your order. It's dimmable as long as dimmable bulbs are fitted. The fitting sits directly against the ceiling with no drop. It's a Class I fitting, which means it requires an earth connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started out in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by Phil R. Hinkley with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. That lantern rooted, candle inspired design language is still visible in pieces like Gentry, decades after the brand widened into indoor lighting. When Phil became too unwell to run the business alone, he sold half of it to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, who took over fully after Phil died in 1937 and moved his own family to Cleveland to see the company through. His grandson Rick Wiedemer joined in 1969, beginning a 50 year career with Hinkley, and by the early 2000s a fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, had begun taking on leadership roles. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted designs like this one for the UK, rewiring them for 220 to 240V and certifying them to CE standards.
