The Hinkley Gentry 3 Light Flush Mount in Pewter takes the collection's traditional candle styling and turns it into a ceiling fitting that sits close and flush, rather than hanging down. It's the option to reach for when the Gentry look is wanted but a pendant would sit too low or feel wrong for the room.

The Pewter finish

Pewter gives this flush mount a soft, muted metal tone, quieter than the brighter polished nickel option and warmer than plain chrome. It's built on a steel frame with clear bent glass panels, finished with candle sleeves and chaser detailing that carry the Gentry collection's traditional character. The same design is also available in polished nickel and polished brass, if you'd prefer a brighter or warmer metal tone.

How it works

This fitting takes three E14 bulbs, which aren't included, so you'll need to add LED candle bulbs to your order. It's a Class I fitting, which means it needs to be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. Once wired in, it sits directly against the ceiling with no drop, at around 29cm in diameter.

Where it works best

Its flush profile makes it a good fit for hallways, landings and rooms with lower ceilings, as well as kitchens and dining rooms, where the traditional Gentry look is wanted without a hanging pendant getting in the way.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley started out making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio. When ill health forced him to sell half the company in the mid 1930s, Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman, took it on, and after Phil died in 1937 the Wiedemer family took over the business outright. That family connection has run through the company ever since: Stanley's grandson Rick joined in 1969 for a career spanning fifty years, and by around 2000 the fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, were taking on leadership roles themselves. A traditional, candle style design like this Gentry flush mount sits comfortably within that long running family approach to lighting. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Is this light dimmable? Yes, it works with dimmable LED bulbs. If you use standard, non dimmable LEDs, it won't dim.

Are bulbs included? No. This fitting takes three E14 bulbs, which you'll need to order separately.
