Vintage Bronze finish

The frame is finished in Vintage Bronze, a warm, aged metal tone that sits well against the amber pearl and clear crystal prisms. It reads softer and more traditional than a bright metal finish, and pairs easily with wood tones, aged brass and other warm materials already in the room.

How it works

The Gemma 3 Light Pendant takes three E27 LED bulbs, which are not included, so you will need to add these to your order. It can be dimmed if you fit dimmable LED bulbs and pair the fitting with a compatible dimmer switch. This is a Class I fitting, which means it needs to be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where it works best

Thanks to its adjustable drop, the Gemma 3 Light Pendant works well as a centrepiece above a dining table, hung centrally in a living room or hallway with a generous ceiling height, or as a statement piece above a bed in a bedroom with high ceilings.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by Phil R. Hinkley with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. A piece like the Gemma pendant, built from crystal and metal rather than lantern glass, shows how far the range has travelled since then, carried forward by the Wiedemer family across four generations after Stanley Wiedemer took over the business in 1937. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring and securing full CE certification.
