How it works

This fitting takes three E27 LED bulbs, which are not included, so you will need to add these separately. It is dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs, though not every E27 LED is, so check the packaging before you buy. This is a Class I fitting, which means it must be earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio, when Phil Hinkley started out making outdoor lanterns, with just 14 designs in his first catalogue. The Wiedemer family took over the company not long after and four generations later, they still run it today. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs, including this Gemma flush fitting, for UK homes, converting each one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification. It is a small, practical piece of a story that started with a handful of lanterns and grew into a full lighting collection.
