A taller, more dramatic Gemma

The Gemma 2 Light Tall Wall Light stretches the rectangular amber pearl and clear crystal prisms of the Gemma range into a longer, more elongated frame. It keeps the same warm Vintage Bronze finish as the rest of the collection but gives it more presence on the wall, with two lights set along its extended length rather than one.

Vintage Bronze finish

The frame is mild steel finished in Vintage Bronze, a warm, slightly aged bronze tone that sits comfortably against neutral or deeper coloured walls. The amber pearl and clear crystal prisms catch the light along the fitting's length, adding sparkle without looking overly formal. It pairs naturally with brass, bronze or dark metal hardware elsewhere in the room.

How it works

This wall light takes 2 x E14 LED bulbs, which aren't included, so you'll need to add these to your order. It's dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs, alongside a compatible dimmer switch. The fitting is Class I. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where it works best

Its taller profile suits spaces with more wall height to fill, such as either side of a large mirror, along a stairwell, or on a feature wall in a hallway. It also works well as a pair flanking a bed in a bedroom, or either side of a dining room sideboard, where the extra length balances a higher ceiling.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by Phil R. Hinkley with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. The Wiedemer family took over the business after Phil's death in 1937, and four generations on it has grown well beyond its lantern origins into decorative collections like Gemma, with its crystal and mild steel detailing. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings such as this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification. That's what brings a design shaped in Cleveland to a British hallway or bedroom wall today.

Is this wall light dimmable? Yes. It works with dimmable LED bulbs, though you'll also need a compatible dimmer switch. If you use non dimmable bulbs, the light will not dim.
