The Gemma 2 Light Tall Wall Light stretches the familiar Gemma silhouette into a longer, more vertical fitting. Two tiers of amber pearl and clear crystal prisms catch the light along its full length, and this Silver Leaf finish gives the frame a cooler, more contemporary edge than the collection's Vintage Bronze alternative.

The frame is finished in Silver Leaf over mild steel, a pale, silvery tone that reads as modern rather than traditional. It sits well against light walls and cooler colour schemes, letting the amber pearl and clear crystal prisms provide the warmth and sparkle while the frame itself stays understated.

How it works

Two E14 bulbs sit behind the crystal prisms. Bulbs are not supplied, so you will need to add your own when you order. The fitting is dimmable when used with dimmable bulbs. It is wired to Class I, which means it needs an earthed connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where it works best

Its taller shape suits hallways, stairwells and landings with a little extra ceiling height, and either side of a mirror in a bedroom or dining room, where a long, narrow fitting looks better than a wide one. It also works well in a living room as a decorative accent alongside a main pendant or table lamps.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley started out making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. The Wiedemer family took the company on from the 1930s, and by 1969 Stanley Wiedemer's grandson, Rick Wiedemer Jr, had joined the business for what became a fifty year career. Around the turn of the millennium, the fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, began taking on leadership roles, steering the range well beyond the outdoor lanterns the company started with, into decorative interior pieces like the crystal detailed Gemma collection. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings such as this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Is this wall light dimmable? Yes. It works with a dimmer switch as long as you fit dimmable E14 bulbs, since the fitting itself does not include a built in dimming function.

Do bulbs come with this fitting? No. It takes 2 x E14 bulbs, and these are not included, so you will need to add your own when you place your order.
