A stripped back industrial cage in a single drop
The Fulton single pendant takes the collection's tapered cage silhouette and lets it stand alone as one drop light. There's no glass anywhere in the design, so the open frame and the candle sleeve inside it are left fully exposed, giving it a plain, workshop feel rather than a polished one.
Bronze finish and mild steel frame
This version is finished in Bronze over a mild steel frame, with the tapered cage narrowing towards a discreet H shaped ceiling cluster. The warm, slightly weathered tone of the finish suits reclaimed wood, exposed brick and darker metal fittings, and pairs easily with other pieces from the wider Fulton range.
How it works
It takes one E27 bulb, which isn't supplied, so you'll need to add one when you order. The pendant is dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs, though standard bulbs won't dim. The drop is adjustable from 38cm up to 129.4cm, and it's a Class I fitting, which means it requires an earth connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.
Where it works best
A single Fulton pendant works well over a kitchen island or breakfast bar, above a dining table, or repeated in a row along a run of worktop. It also suits a hallway or stairwell where an industrial style single drop light is wanted rather than a full chandelier.
The story behind Hinkley
Hinkley started out in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by Phil R. Hinkley with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. When Phil became ill in the mid-1930s he sold half the business to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, who bought the rest of the company after Phil died in 1937 and moved his own family to Cleveland to keep it running. That single act of continuing the business is what eventually led, generations later, to ranges as far from those first fourteen lanterns as the stripped back industrial cages of the Fulton collection. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
