This fitting takes 1 x E14 bulb, not supplied, so you will need to add one before it can be used. Choose a dimmable bulb if you want to dim the light, as it only dims when a dimmable bulb is fitted. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It is wired to Class I, which means it also needs an earth connection at the point of installation.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio, when Phil R. Hinkley started out making outdoor lanterns, with a first catalogue of just fourteen products. When his health failed in the mid 1930s he sold half the business to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman, who bought the rest after Phil died in 1937 and moved his family to Cleveland to run the company. Stanley's grandson Rick joined in 1969 and spent fifty years shaping the business, and it is that long, steady stretch that shaped much of the traditional design language you see in pieces like the Dunhill. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted these designs for the UK, rewiring fittings such as this one for 220 to 240V and full CE certification.
