This Dunhill is finished in Royal Bronze over a mild steel frame, with an off-white pleated fabric shade and faux alabaster glass detailing. The warm, deep bronze tone works well against dark wood, aged brass hardware and traditional cabinetry, and sits just as comfortably in a more transitional scheme.

How it works

Two E27 bulbs sit inside the fitting. Bulbs aren't included, so you'll need to add your own, and it's dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. It's a Class I fitting, which means it needs an earthed connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It fixes flush against the ceiling, which suits rooms with lower ceiling heights.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley started out making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. By the mid-1930s illness had led him to sell half the business to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, and after Phil died in 1937, Stanley bought the remaining half and moved his family to Cleveland to run the company. That Wiedemer family has guided Hinkley through four generations since, and traditional, candle inspired designs like this Dunhill semi flush sit within a range that has grown a long way from those first 14 lanterns. Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe since 2012, converting fittings including this Royal Bronze Dunhill to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Is this light dimmable? Yes, if you fit dimmable E27 bulbs and use it with a compatible dimmer switch. With standard, non dimmable bulbs it will not dim.

Are bulbs included? No. This fitting takes 2 x E27 bulbs, which aren't supplied, so you'll need to add these to your order.
