The Hinkley Dax Mini Pendant is a small scale ceiling light built around a single integrated LED, giving a neat point of light without the bulk of a full size pendant. This Heritage Brass version brings a warm, traditional finish to the Dax range's slim, streamlined shape.

Heritage Brass finish

The steel housing is finished in Heritage Brass, a warm, golden brass tone that suits kitchens and dining spaces looking for a softer feel than the darker finishes in the Dax range. It sits well alongside brass taps, timber cabinetry, and other warm metal details in the room.

How it works

A single 8W LED is built into the fitting, so there's no separate bulb to buy or fit. It gives a warm 3000K light at around 320 lumens, with a CRI of 90 for accurate colour rendering, though it is not dimmable. Mounting hardware is concealed behind the ceiling plate for a neat finish. This is a hardwired fitting rated Class I, which means it needs to be wired to earth. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs it.

Where it works best

Its small scale makes it a good fit above a kitchen island, in a compact dining nook, or anywhere a single, focused pendant is wanted rather than a cluster or a larger fitting. The drop is adjustable from 20.3cm up to 102.2cm, so it can sit close to the ceiling in a lower room or hang further down where there is more height.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started out in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. A century later, its range runs from lanterns to compact, integrated LED pendants like this Dax mini pendant. Much of that shift has come under the company's fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, who began taking on leadership roles around 2000. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings such as this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
