The Collier wall light takes the collection's cast knob and stem detailing and scales it down into a single arm fitting, built for spaces where the full size Collier would be too much. It keeps the same period character in a smaller footprint.

Finished in Heritage Brass over mild steel and glass, Collier keeps the cast knob and stem details that give the collection its vintage character. The warm brass tone works well against dark paint, panelled walls, or exposed brick, and pairs naturally with other aged brass hardware in the room.

How it works

Collier is a single light wall mounted fitting that takes 1 x E27 bulb, not supplied, so you'll need to add one to your order. It's dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It's wired to Class I, which means it needs to be properly earthed.

Collier suits kitchens and dining rooms looking for a warm, period accent, and works well used in pairs, either side of a mirror, fireplace, or dresser. Its smaller scale also makes it a good fit for hallways and landings where a full sized wall light would feel too heavy.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley started making lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with just fourteen products in his debut catalogue. Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, bought into the business in the mid 1930s and took full ownership after Phil's death in 1937, moving his own family to Cleveland to run the company. His grandson Rick Wiedemer joined in 1969, the third generation to lead Hinkley, and stayed at the helm for fifty years. Pieces like this Collier wall light carry that same long running family character, and since 2012 Elstead Lighting has manufactured Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting them to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Is the Collier wall light dimmable? Yes, it works with a dimmer switch as long as you fit dimmable LED bulbs. Standard, non dimmable bulbs will not dim even on a dimmer circuit.

Does this wall light come with a bulb? No, Collier takes 1 x E27 bulb which isn't included, so you'll need to add one to your order to use it.

Can I use this wall light in pairs? Yes, Collier's compact single arm design is well suited to being fitted in pairs, either side of a mirror, fireplace, or dresser.

Does the Heritage Brass finish need any special care? Heritage Brass is designed to age gracefully, so a light patina developing over time is normal and part of the finish's character. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth to keep it clean.
