This is the smallest fitting in Hinkley's Collier range, a two light flush mount built for rooms where headroom or space is tight. It keeps the cast knob and stem detailing that defines the whole collection, just scaled down to suit a smaller ceiling.

Heritage brass, mild steel and glass

The fitting is finished in Heritage Brass over a mild steel frame, paired with glass diffusers that soften the light. It works well alongside other aged brass hardware and warm wood tones, and sits comfortably in both traditional and more pared back interiors.

How it works

This is a flush mounted ceiling light that takes two E27 bulbs, sold separately. Choose dimmable LED bulbs paired with a compatible dimmer switch if you want to adjust the light level, since standard bulbs will not dim. The fitting is Class I, which means it must be earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where it works best

Its small footprint and low profile make it a good fit for kitchens, dining rooms, utility rooms, box rooms and landings, particularly where ceiling height is limited. Two lights are enough to lift a smaller room without overwhelming it.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started small. Phil R. Hinkley founded the company in Cleveland, Ohio in 1922, with a debut catalogue of just 14 outdoor lantern designs. A fitting like this one, modest in scale and built for everyday rooms, has more in common with those early beginnings than with anything showy. The Wiedemer family took over not long after, first Stanley in the 1930s, then three further generations who grew the company into the wider range it is today. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for UK and European homes, converting fittings like this Collier flush mount to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Is this light dimmable? Yes, but only if you fit dimmable LED bulbs and use them with a compatible dimmer switch. With standard bulbs, it will not dim.

Are bulbs included? No. This fitting takes 2 x E27 bulbs, which are sold separately, so you will need to add these to your order.
