Antique Bronze finish and materials

The frame is made from mild steel, with warm antique highlighting along each bowed upright. Every arm ends in a vintage style faux alabaster glass shade, which softens the light rather than exposing the bulb directly. Together the finish and the glass give this antique bronze chandelier a traditional look that still reads as updated rather than strictly period, so it suits a wide range of dining room and living room styles.

How it works

This chandelier hangs from the ceiling and takes 6 x E14 bulbs, which are not supplied, so you'll need to add six to your order. It's dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. The fitting is Class I, which means it needs to be properly earthed as part of installation. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by Phil R. Hinkley with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. A century on, a fitting on the scale of this six light Cello chandelier shows how far the range has grown from those first lanterns. The Wiedemer family has run the company since Stanley Wiedemer bought out Phil's share of the business in the 1930s and took full ownership in 1937, and his grandson Rick Wiedemer joined the business in 1969 for a career that spanned 50 years. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
