Antique Bronze finish and faux alabaster glass

Each of the three curved steel arms is finished in Antique Bronze, with warm highlights that catch the light along the bowed uprights. A vintage style faux alabaster glass shade sits at the end of each arm, softening the light and giving the fitting a period feel. It sits comfortably with dark woods, aged brass hardware and other warm, traditional finishes.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started life in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley set up in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just 14 outdoor lantern designs. In the mid 1930s Phil sold half the business to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, and after Phil died in 1937 Stanley bought the rest and moved his family from Kansas City to Cleveland to run the company. That family stewardship carried through three more generations: Stanley's grandson Rick Wiedemer joined the business in 1969 for a career spanning 50 years, and Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer began taking on leadership roles from around 2000. The Cello range, offered here as a compact 3 light chandelier and running up to 15 light versions plus wall and semi flush options, reflects how far the company has grown since that first 14 piece catalogue. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs for UK homes, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
