With fifteen bowed steel arms sweeping out from a central column, the Cello 15 Light Chandelier is the biggest and most dramatic fitting in Hinkley's Cello range. It is a genuinely large fixture: a diameter of 119.4cm and a drop that adjusts from 121.2cm up to 426cm, so please check these measurements against your space before ordering. The Antique Bronze finish is hand applied, which means colour and shading vary slightly from piece to piece, and can also look different on screen than in person.

Antique Bronze and faux alabaster glass

Mild steel uprights are finished in Antique Bronze, a warm, aged brown tone with darker shading in the recesses that gives each arm real depth. Every one of the fifteen arms carries a vintage style faux alabaster glass shade, which softens the light and adds texture without hiding the metalwork underneath. Because the finish is hand applied, expect gentle variation between fittings rather than a flat, uniform colour.

How it works

The chandelier hangs from a single ceiling point, with its drop adjustable between 121.2cm and 426cm to suit high ceilings, stairwells and galleried landings. It takes fifteen E27 bulbs, which are not supplied, so you will need to add fifteen to your order. It is rated Class I, which means it requires an earth connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Given its scale and weight, the Cello 15 Light Chandelier is suited to large spaces such as a grand hallway, a stairwell, or a dining room with a high ceiling. The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley started making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. It is a long way from those first fourteen lanterns to a fifteen arm chandelier of this scale. Stanley Wiedemer took over the business in 1937 after Phil's death, and his family has run it ever since, with his grandson Rick joining in 1969 for a career that spanned fifty years. The fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, began taking on leadership roles around 2000, and in 2019 the company simplified its name from Hinkley Lighting to simply Hinkley as it expanded into ceiling fans. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs, including the Cello collection, for UK and European homes, converting fittings to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
