This is the 5 light version of Hinkley's Casa chandelier, scaled up from the smaller fittings in the collection into a genuine ceiling centrepiece. It is also a large fixture: a drop that adjusts from 82.8cm to 230cm, a width of 63.5cm and a weight of 8.7kg. Please check these measurements against your space before ordering.

Olde Black finish

The frame is aluminium, finished in Olde Black and shaped into the twisted scrollwork that runs across all five arms. Clear seeded glass panels sit alongside the ironwork look, giving the light a slightly aged, rustic character that suits Spanish inspired interiors and traditional kitchens and dining rooms alike.

How it works

This chandelier hangs from the ceiling and takes 5 x E27 LED bulbs, which are not supplied so you will need to add five to your order. It is dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. This is a Class I fitting, which means it needs to be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where it works best

With its scale and rustic detailing, this Casa chandelier works best in a dining room or a farmhouse style kitchen with a reasonably generous ceiling height, where it can hang as the room's focal point over a table or island.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started small. When Phil R. Hinkley founded the company in Cleveland, Ohio in 1922, its debut catalogue held just 14 outdoor lantern designs. Stanley Wiedemer bought into the business in the mid 1930s and took full ownership after Phil died in 1937, and his family has run it ever since, from his grandson Rick Wiedemer's fifty year career that began in 1969 to the fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, who began taking on leadership roles around 2000. A chandelier the size of this Casa piece shows how far the range has grown from that first small lantern catalogue. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.
