Finished in Olde Black

The aluminium frame is finished in Olde Black, an aged, textured tone that gives the twisted detailing and scrollwork plenty of depth. This is a distressed style finish, so colour and texture can vary slightly from piece to piece, and finishes often look different on screen to how they appear in person. The clear seeded glass panels have a slightly bubbled, handmade quality that softens the light they cast. It pairs naturally with wood, wrought metal and other rustic or farmhouse finishes.

How it works

This chandelier hangs from the ceiling on a chain, taking three E27 bulbs. Bulbs are not included, so you will need to add three to your order, and you can use dimmable bulbs if you want it on a dimmer switch. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It is a Class I fitting, which means it needs an earthed connection.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley began in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley started out making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen designs. After Phil fell ill with tuberculosis in the mid 1930s, he sold half the business to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, who bought the remaining half and moved his own family to Cleveland to run the company after Phil died in 1937. Stanley's grandson Rick Wiedemer joined the business in 1969 for a career that spanned fifty years, and by around 2000 the fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, were taking on leadership roles of their own. A century of family ownership since those first fourteen lanterns has produced ranges as varied in scale as this large, Spanish inspired Casa chandelier. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Is this chandelier dimmable? Yes, the Casa 3 Light Chandelier works on a dimmer switch as long as you fit dimmable E27 bulbs. Standard, non dimmable bulbs will not dim even on a dimmer circuit.
