This Small Wall Lantern brings that same detailing down to a size built for a single doorway or porch. It's designed to sit beside an entrance rather than hang overhead, so you get the collection's character without the scale.

Vintage Iron finish

The body is steel, finished by hand in Vintage Iron for a weathered, textured look, and paired with etched glass that softens the light it throws. It's the same finish used across the rest of the Carson range, and works well against brick, render or timber.

How it works

This lantern takes one E27 LED bulb, which isn't included, so you'll need to add one when you order. It's dimmable if you fit a dimmable bulb. It's wall mounted and designed to sit beside a door rather than hang from above. It's a Class I fitting, which means it needs to be earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started out in 1922 in Cleveland, Ohio, as a small outdoor lantern maker, with a debut catalogue of just fourteen products. Phil R. Hinkley ran the company until the mid 1930s, when tuberculosis led him to sell half the business to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City. After Phil died in 1937, Stanley bought the remaining half and moved his family to Cleveland to run the company himself. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting fittings like this one to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification. Is this lantern dimmable? Yes, as long as you fit a dimmable LED bulb. With a bulb that isn't dimmable, it will only work at full brightness.

Does it come with a bulb? No. It takes one E27 bulb, which isn't included, so you'll need to add a suitable LED bulb to your order.

Is it suitable for outdoor use? Yes. It has an IP44 rating, which means it's protected against splashing water, so it suits porches, front doors and other exterior walls that get some exposure to the weather.

Can I install this myself? We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It's a Class I fitting, which means it needs to be properly earthed.
