A small pendant with a long reach
The Carabel Single Mini Pendant takes the collection's pierced, scrolling metalwork and scales it down to a single lamp fitting, small enough for use in multiples yet built on a rod and chain system that lets it hang a long way. This is a large fitting: a drop that adjusts from 42cm to 343cm. Please check these measurements against your space before ordering.
Brushed Champagne finish
A mild steel frame is finished in Brushed Champagne, a warm, muted gold tone with a soft brushed texture, then paired with an etched glass diffuser that softens the light behind the pierced scrollwork. It reads well alongside brass, ivory and warm wood tones, whether hung on its own or repeated in a row.
How it works
A single E27 lamp sits behind the etched glass diffuser and pierced metal surround. The bulb isn't included, so add an LED lamp of your choice when you order, and choose a dimmable bulb if you want it to work with a dimmer switch. This is a Class I fitting, which means it must be wired to an earth connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.
Where it works best
Its small scale and long possible drop suit stairwells and tall hallways, where it can hang low without overwhelming the space. It also works well in living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms, whether hung as a single pendant or grouped together.
The story behind Hinkley
Hinkley started in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley began making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just 14 designs. Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman, bought half the business in the mid 1930s and took full ownership after Phil died in 1937, moving his family from Kansas City to Cleveland to run it. His grandson Rick Wiedemer joined the company in 1969, beginning a career that spanned 50 years, and by the early 2000s the fourth generation, Kristi, Jess and Eric Wiedemer, had begun taking on leadership roles. The range has grown well beyond those first lanterns, wide enough now to offer a piece like Carabel in both full size and this smaller single lamp version. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for the UK and Europe, converting them to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Is this pendant dimmable? Yes, it works with a compatible dimmer switch as long as you fit a dimmable LED bulb. A standard, non dimmable bulb won't respond to a dimmer.
Does it come with a bulb? No, this fitting takes 1 x E27 LED bulb, which isn't included, so you'll need to add one to your order.
How far can this pendant drop? The rod and chain system lets it hang anywhere from 42cm to 343cm, so it can sit close to the ceiling or hang low down a stairwell or tall hallway. Check both measurements against your space before ordering.
