The Bolla 2 Light Flush Fitting takes the collection's sweeping arms and sphere detailing and sets them flush against the ceiling, rather than hanging below it. It suits rooms where a pendant would sit too low, while still carrying the same bell shaped glass and sculptural silhouette as the rest of the Bolla range. In Brushed Nickel, it reads as understated rather than showy, adding detail without dominating the room.

Brushed Nickel, glass and mild steel

This fitting pairs a mild steel frame with bell shaped glass shades, finished in Brushed Nickel for a soft, contemporary sheen. It sits comfortably alongside warm woods, cool greys and most other metal finishes in a room. It's also available in Chrome, if you'd prefer a brighter, cooler look.

How it works

The fitting takes two E27 LED bulbs, which aren't included, so you'll need to add these separately. It's dimmable, as long as the bulbs you choose are dimmable themselves. This is a Class I fitting. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

Where it works best

Because it sits flush to the ceiling, this fitting works well in rooms with lower ceilings or where a hanging pendant isn't practical, including hallways and landings. Its two light spread also makes it a good general light for a kitchen, dining room or living room.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started life in 1922 as a small outdoor lantern maker in Cleveland, Ohio, founded by Phil R. Hinkley with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. Ownership passed to the Wiedemer family in the 1930s, and the company that grew from that small beginning now designs across far more than lanterns, including flush fittings like this one for rooms where a hanging light simply won't fit. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has manufactured and adapted Hinkley's designs for UK homes, converting fittings such as this Bolla flush light to 220 to 240V wiring with full CE certification.

Is this light dimmable? Yes. It works with a standard dimmer switch as long as you fit dimmable E27 LED bulbs, since not all LED bulbs dim smoothly.

Do bulbs come with this fitting? No. It takes 2 x E27 LED bulbs, which are sold separately, so you can choose the brightness and colour temperature that suits the room.

Can I fit this myself? We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting rather than fitting it yourself.

What size is this fitting? It measures 20.3cm in height and 42.5cm in diameter, so it's worth checking that against your ceiling space before ordering, particularly if it's going above a table or seating area.
