A compact take on a bold design
The Astrid Mini Pendant takes the welded geometric cage design of Hinkley's Astrid collection and scales it down into a single small fitting. It carries the same frame structure and two tone layering as the larger Astrid pendants, in a size that suits closer spacing and smaller rooms. That makes it a genuinely useful mini pendant light for kitchen islands or for hanging in multiples along a run.
Metallic Matte Bronze finish
The frame is finished in Metallic Matte Bronze, with a contrasting inner tone that shows through the open cage structure. Both the outer and inner metalwork are metal, giving the fitting some weight and solidity despite its small footprint. The warm bronze tone sits comfortably against timber, brass hardware or dark painted walls.
How it works
This pendant takes 1 x E27 LED bulb, which is not supplied, so you will need to order one separately. It hangs on its own cable from a ceiling rose, and the drop can be adjusted between 45.1cm and 106cm to suit your ceiling height. It is dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. It is rated Class I, which means it needs a properly earthed connection. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.
Where it works best
Its small scale makes it easy to use above a kitchen island or breakfast bar, spaced out in a row of two or three rather than as a single large light. It also works well in a living room, dining room, hallway or over a staircase, anywhere you want a bronze pendant light that reads as a considered detail rather than the main event.
The story behind Hinkley
Hinkley began in 1922, when Phil R. Hinkley started out making outdoor lanterns in Cleveland, Ohio, with a debut catalogue of just 14 products. After Phil became ill in the mid 1930s he sold half the business to Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, and Stanley took over the company outright after Phil's death in 1937. His family has run Hinkley ever since, through Stanley's grandson Rick, who led the business for 50 years from 1969, and the fourth generation who followed him. A design like the Astrid Mini Pendant, with its welded cage frame, sits in that long line of lighting made by the same family business, now adapted for UK homes by Elstead Lighting, who have converted Hinkley's designs to 220 to 240V wiring and full CE certification since 2012.

Is the Astrid Mini Pendant dimmable? Yes, it works on a dimmer switch as long as you fit dimmable LED bulbs. Standard, non dimmable bulbs will not dim even on a dimmer circuit.
Does it come with a bulb? No, this pendant takes 1 x E27 LED bulb which is sold separately, so you will need to add one to your order before it can be used.
Can I install this myself? We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting. It is a Class I fitting, which needs a properly earthed connection.
