This two tone bronze finish pairs a darker metal body with lighter cast details, so the hinges, clasps and trim ring stand out clearly against the deeper bronze tones. How it works

This is a single light pendant that takes one E27 LED bulb, which is not supplied so you'll need to add one to your order. It's dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. The pendant hangs on an adjustable cable, with a drop that runs from 42.6cm up to 110.6cm, so you can set the height to suit your ceiling and the surface below. It's a Class I fitting, which means it needs to be properly earthed. We always recommend a qualified electrician installs this fitting.

The story behind Hinkley

Hinkley started small. Phil R. Hinkley founded the company in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1922, and its debut catalogue held just 14 outdoor lantern designs. Stanley Wiedemer, a travelling salesman from Kansas City, bought into the business in the mid 1930s and took it over fully after Phil died in 1937, moving his family to Cleveland to run it. The Wiedemer family has kept the business going ever since, with Stanley's grandson Rick joining in 1969 for a career that spanned five decades. Since 2012, Elstead Lighting has adapted Hinkley's designs, including this Amelia pendant, for the UK market, converting the wiring to 220 to 240V and securing full CE certification.
