Harte Vintage Tear Drop 2.5m Lamp Post - Cast Iron, Steel & Copper Head

This 2.5 metre lamp post carries the same commanding scale as Harte's standard tall post but replaces the black lantern head with copper, a genuine change of material that stands out at this height rather than blending into the ironwork below.

Cast iron, steel and a copper head

The post is cast iron and galvanised steel, finished in gloss black, with a copper head left unpainted in its natural tone at the top. Harte's guarantee against cracking, bending or breaking under normal conditions covers the cast iron and steel elements of the post; the copper head is excluded, as with all of Harte's copper components.

How it works

Light diffuses through a clear polycarbonate lens set into the head. It requires connection to mains wiring and a fixed base, and given the post's height, professional installation is strongly recommended.

Where it works best

Suited to longer driveways, avenues or larger grounds, the copper head at this height catches the eye from further away than a plain black one, useful where the entrance is meant to be noticed.

This lamp post comes from Harte Outdoor Lighting, a family run manufacturer based in New Ross, County Wexford, founded by Willie Harte in 1983 and now run by Liz Harte and the next generation, including Jack and Sam Harte. Harte says its lighting is installed at notable Irish locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club, as well as private estates and gardens across Ireland and the UK.
