Harte Vintage Tear Drop 2.5m Lamp Post - Cast Iron & Steel

At 2.5 metres, this lamp post sits well above head height, giving a broader spread of light than Harte's shorter posts and a more traditional street lamp scale, while keeping the tear drop head and curved details of the Vintage Tear Drop range.

Cast iron and galvanised steel

Cast iron and galvanised steel form the post, built to carry its height without losing stability at the base. Harte says these cast iron and steel elements carry a lifetime guarantee against cracking, bending or breaking under normal conditions, with exclusions for surface finish, electrical components, and installation related damage. It's finished in gloss black as standard, with other colours available on request.

How it works

A clear polycarbonate lens diffuses light from the tear drop head at the top of the post. It requires connection to mains wiring and a fixed base, and professional installation is strongly recommended given the post's height.

Where it works best

This height suits longer driveways, avenues or larger gardens where a lower post would be lost, giving a wider pool of light and a more commanding presence at an entrance.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

This lamp post is made by Harte Outdoor Lighting, a family run manufacturer based in New Ross, County Wexford, founded by Willie Harte in 1983 and now continued by Liz Harte and the next generation, including Jack and Sam Harte. Harte says its lighting is installed at notable Irish locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club, alongside private estates and commercial projects across Ireland and the UK.
