Harte Vintage Tear Drop 0.64m Pier Light For Flat Piers - Cast Iron, Steel & Copper Head

Built for flat topped piers, this 0.64 metre light adds a copper head to the cast iron and steel body used across Harte's Vintage Tear Drop range, part of the Goose Neck collection inspired by old farmyard lamp shapes. The copper head is a genuine material change from the standard version, not just a different paint colour.

Cast iron, steel and a copper head

The base and arm are cast iron and galvanised steel, finished in gloss black, while the tear drop head itself is copper, left in its natural tone. Harte's guarantee against cracking, bending or breaking under normal conditions applies to the cast iron and steel elements; the copper head, as a copper component, sits outside that guarantee.

How it works

A clear polycarbonate lens diffuses the light within the head, and a flat base plate lets the fixture sit flush on a flat topped pier rather than a domed cap. It requires a mains wiring connection, best carried out by a qualified electrician alongside the fixing to the pier.

Where it works best

Where entrance piers have flat, square tops rather than rounded caps, this light fixes directly without adaptation, and the copper head brings a touch of warmth to what might otherwise be a plain, functional gatepost light.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

This pier light comes from Harte Outdoor Lighting, a family run manufacturer based in New Ross, County Wexford, founded by Willie Harte in 1983 and now carried forward by Liz Harte and the next generation, including Jack and Sam Harte. Harte says its lighting is installed at notable Irish locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club, as well as private estates and gardens across Ireland and the UK.
