Harte Vintage Tear Drop 0.46m Wall Light - Galvanised Steel & Copper Head

At 0.46 metres, this wall light is the smallest fixture in Harte's Vintage Tear Drop range within the Goose Neck collection, its curved arm and tear drop lantern echoing the old farmyard lamps that inspired the design. A copper head sets it apart from the standard steel version, giving the fixture a warmer, more textured presence up close.

Galvanised steel and a copper head

The body and curved arm are built in galvanised steel, finished in gloss black to match the rest of the range, while the lantern head itself is formed in copper, left in its natural copper tone rather than painted. It is a genuine material change, not just a colour option, and gives this fixture a distinct look from the all steel version. Harte's guarantee against cracking, bending or breaking applies to the cast iron and steel elements of its products; as a copper component, the head sits outside that particular guarantee.

How it works

A clear polycarbonate lens spreads the light from the tear drop head, while the curved steel arm holds it out from the wall at a fixed angle, similar to the old gooseneck farm lamps it takes its name from. It mounts directly to a wall and requires connection to mains wiring, which we recommend leaving to a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

Being compact, this light suits a front door, a porch, a garden wall or a gable end, anywhere a small, characterful fixture is wanted rather than a large lantern. The copper head adds a point of warmth against stone, brick or render.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

This wall light is made by Harte Outdoor Lighting, a family run manufacturer based in New Ross, County Wexford, founded by Willie Harte in 1983 and now carried on by Liz Harte and the next generation, including Jack and Sam Harte. Harte says its lighting is installed at locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club, as well as private homes and gardens across Ireland and the UK.
