Harte Victorian Style 1.59m Globe Pedestal Light - Cast Iron

At 1.59 metres, this is the tallest pedestal light in Harte's Heritage Globe range, bridging the gap between a low border light and a full lamp post. It follows the Victorian lamp post design the whole range is modelled on, styled rather than an exact period replica.

Cast iron and galvanised steel build

The post and globe head are cast in iron, with galvanised steel used in the construction, and the globe carries a clear polycarbonate lens that shields the light source while keeping it visible on every side. The standard finish is gloss black, with other colours available on request.

How it works

Light spreads outward through the full globe rather than in a single downward beam, so at this height it gives a genuine ambient glow around the post rather than just marking a low edge. It needs mains wiring and a fixed base, and installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

At close to 1.6 metres, this pedestal light works well at eye level points such as steps, terraces and courtyard corners, or spaced along a path where a shorter light would be less visible. It suits both period and more general garden settings.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

Harte Outdoor Lighting has made cast iron and steel lighting in New Ross, County Wexford, since 1983, when Willie Harte set up the workshop now carried forward by Liz Harte and the next generation, Jack and Sam. Harte says the same cast iron construction is behind lighting installed at Adare Manor, the K Club and Áras an Uachtaráin.
