Harte Victorian Globe 0.71m Pier Light For Narrow Pier Caps - Cast Iron

Taller than Harte's other narrow pier cap light, this 0.71 metre fitting still suits narrow pier caps but gives a larger globe head where the pier height allows for it. It shares the same Victorian lamp post inspired design as the rest of the Heritage Globe range.

Cast iron and galvanised steel build

The globe head is cast iron, with galvanised steel used through the construction, and a clear polycarbonate lens sits inside the globe to protect the light source while keeping it visible from every side. It's finished in gloss black as standard, with other colours available on request.

How it works

Rather than throwing light down in a beam, the full globe glows outward on every side, so this fitting works as a point of light marking the pier itself rather than lighting the ground beneath it. It needs mains wiring run to the pier and a narrow, flat fixing surface, and a qualified electrician should carry out the installation.

Where it works best

At 0.71 metres, this pier light suits taller narrow piers on gateways, boundary walls and entrances where a bit more height and presence is wanted without moving to a wider pier fitting. It's typically installed in pairs.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

Willie Harte founded Harte Outdoor Lighting in New Ross, County Wexford, in 1983, and the workshop is now run by Liz Harte with the next generation, Jack and Sam Harte. Harte says its lighting features at Irish locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club, alongside private homes and estates.
