Harte Victorian 3.6m Globe Lamp Post - Cast Iron

At 3.6 metres, this is one of the tallest single headed lamp posts in Harte's Heritage Globe range, built to the same original Victorian design as the shorter posts but scaled up to suit long driveways and open grounds.

Cast iron globe design

The post is built from cast iron with galvanised steel used in the construction, fitted with a clear polycarbonate lens inside the globe head that keeps the light source shielded from the weather while remaining visible from all sides. The standard finish is gloss black, with other colours available on request.

How it works

Light spreads out through the full globe head rather than down in a single beam, so at this height it functions more as a visual marker along a route than a close range path light. It needs mains wiring and a substantial fixed base, and installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

This scale suits long driveways, estate entrances and open parkland settings, where a shorter post would be lost against the surroundings. It's frequently used in evenly spaced runs along a drive or at the entrance to a property.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

Harte Outdoor Lighting has made cast iron and steel lighting from its workshop in New Ross, County Wexford, since 1983, when Willie Harte set up the business now run by Liz Harte and the next generation, Jack and Sam. Harte says its lighting has been installed at Adare Manor, the K Club and Áras an Uachtaráin, among other notable Irish locations.
