Harte Victorian 2.5m Globe Lamp Post - Cast Iron

This 2.5 metre lamp post is one of the taller freestanding pieces in Harte's Heritage Globe range, sized to work as genuine driveway or boundary lighting rather than a garden accent. Its cast iron globe head follows the original Victorian lamp post it's modelled on.

Cast iron globe design

The post is cast in iron with galvanised steel used in the construction for added strength, and finished with a clear polycarbonate lens inside the globe head, keeping the light source protected while remaining visible from every angle. The standard finish is gloss black, with other colours available on request.

How it works

Light spreads outward through the full globe rather than being directed down in a single beam, giving ambient light around the post itself rather than a tight pool on the ground below. As with all Harte lamp posts, it needs mains wiring and a fixed base, and we recommend a qualified electrician handle the connection.

Where it works best

At 2.5 metres, this lamp post suits driveways, entrances and boundary lines where the light needs to be seen from a distance as well as up close. It's often specified in pairs flanking a gate or spaced evenly along a drive.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

Harte Outdoor Lighting has made cast iron and steel lighting from its workshop in New Ross, County Wexford, since 1983, founded by Willie Harte and now carried on by Liz Harte and the next generation, Jack and Sam. Harte says the same cast iron construction sits behind lighting installed at Irish locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club.
