Harte Victorian 0.48m Globe Pier Light For Flat Pier Caps - Cast Iron

This 0.48 metre pier light is built to sit on top of a flat pier cap, marking a gateway or boundary wall with a small globe head lantern rather than a full lamp post. Like the rest of Harte's Heritage Globe range, the design is drawn from an original Victorian lamp post.

Cast iron and galvanised steel build

The globe head is cast in iron, with galvanised steel used in the fixing and internal components for extra strength, and a clear polycarbonate lens keeps the light protected while remaining visible from every angle. The standard finish is gloss black, with other colours available on request.

How it works

Light spreads outward through the full globe rather than down in a single beam, so a pair of these pier lights either side of a gate reads as two matching points of light rather than a floodlit entrance. It needs mains wiring run to the pier and a flat fixing surface, and we recommend a qualified electrician handles the connection.

Where it works best

Sized for flat topped piers, this light suits entrance gates, garden walls and boundary piers where you want the period detailing to continue from the gate posts into the lighting itself. It's often specified in pairs, one on each pier.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

Harte Outdoor Lighting has been making cast iron and steel lighting from its workshop in New Ross, County Wexford, since 1983, founded by Willie Harte and now run by Liz Harte with the next generation, Jack and Sam.
