Harte Victorian 0.37m Traditional Bulkhead Light - Cast Iron

This 0.37 metre bulkhead light is one of the smaller fittings in Harte's Heritage range, built to sit flush against the wall rather than project outward. Modelled on Victorian lantern design, it brings a neat, compact silhouette to porches, side doors and utility entrances where space is tight.

Cast iron construction

The body is cast in iron, 0.23 metres wide, and glazed with hand cut glass that gives the light a slightly irregular, handmade quality rather than a uniform factory finish. It takes a standard E27 bulb holder and comes in the standard gloss black finish, with other colours available on request.

How it works

Because the fitting mounts flush to the wall, the light spreads out from a fixed point close to the surface rather than throwing a shadow the way a projecting arm light does. That makes it a practical choice anywhere a slimmer profile matters more than reach.

Where it works best

At this size, the bulkhead suits porches, side returns, garage doors and boot rooms, anywhere a wall light is needed but the space either side is limited. It also works well used in a pair either side of a smaller doorway.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

Harte Outdoor Lighting has cast iron and steel lighting at its workshop in New Ross, County Wexford, since 1983, a family business founded by Willie Harte and now carried on by Liz Harte and the next generation, including Jack and Sam Harte. Harte says the same cast iron construction underpins lighting installed at Irish locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club.
