Harte Georgian Style 3.5m Lamp Post - Cast Iron & Steel

At 3.5 metres, this is the tallest lamp post in Harte's Courtyard range, a statement fixture built for long driveways and substantial grounds rather than a garden path. It carries the same Georgian inspired, cylindrical design as the rest of the range, built up in cast iron and steel to a scale that holds its own against a large house or estate entrance.

Cast iron and steel build

It's cast in iron and steel, materials selected to carry that height and stand outdoors for decades without weakening. Harte says the cast iron and steel elements of its products carry a lifetime guarantee against cracking, bending or breaking under normal conditions, with exclusions for surface finish, electrical components, copper and aluminium products, and damage caused during installation. Gloss black is the standard finish, with other colours available on request.

How it works

Light passes through cylindrical polycarbonate glazing that spreads it from an E27 bulb, while the ornate cast iron cap above encloses the housing, limiting glare and directing light downward across a wide area. Given its height, it needs a substantial fixed base and a mains wiring connection, and we strongly recommend a qualified electrician handles installation.

Where it works best

This scale suits long avenues, estate driveways or the entrance to a large property, where the light needs to be seen and to carry over greater distances. It's often specified for grand entrances rather than everyday garden use, where its height and presence become part of the approach to a house.

Harte, Irish craft since 1983

This lamp post is made by Harte Outdoor Lighting, a family run manufacturer based in New Ross, County Wexford, producing cast iron outdoor lighting since 1983, founded by Willie Harte and carried forward today by Liz Harte and the next generation. Harte says its lighting is installed at notable Irish locations including Áras an Uachtaráin, Adare Manor and the K Club, alongside private estates and commercial projects across Ireland and the UK.
